Organisation Description

Relate Chesterfield and North Derbyshire are a charity who provide counselling, support and training to their local community; and have been doing so for over 40 years. They offer individual, couples, family, children and young people and psychosexual therapy, as well as training courses aimed at equipping people to support their own and other people's mental health and wellbeing. Their youngest beneficiaries are aged 5 as part of family counselling and they regularly see beneficiaries aged 70 plus across all of their services.

About the opportunity

Relate Chesterfield and North Derbyshire would benefit from support to develop their marketing and individual fundraising efforts. They want to push forward these endeavours but need support to mobilise and plan; as this is a mostly untapped resource for the organisation presently so they would appreciate the specialist knowledge offered to them.   They hope to be empowered to connect with their audience (and their ‘typical donor’ profile) in a way that is streamlined and effective. This piece of work should leave them with a marketing plan and strategy to deploy to their typical donor in a number of different and responsive ways such as to increase legacy giving, business sponsorship and/or uptake to individual fundraising challenges, across any number of appropriate media platforms (social media, in radio etc).   This could encompass scoping out where competitors have success and to understand the marketing strategies that would attract their ‘typical donor’ in order to empower Relate Chesterfield and North Derbyshire with the tools to deliver these marketing/fundraising campaigns on a basis that suits the flow of their work.   Ultimately this will allow for them to have a clear presence on social media (equipped with tools like tone of voice to make the most of this marketing tool) as well as stronger fundraising strategy (and therefore greater diversity of income and sustainability) at an individual level that will support their work in providing counselling at free and low-cost to the people they support.
