Riverside Care and Support is the award-winning specialist provider of supported housing and retirement living within the Riverside Group. The housing association is uniquely placed to provide innovative and flexible housing, support and care solutions up and down the country.

What we do

Riverside Care and Support provides a range of support and care services to people who may be vulnerable for a variety of reasons. From registered care homes to community support projects, our services are flexible according to the needs of our customers. All care and support is self-directed by the individual – along the principles of ‘no decision about me, without me’.

Our mental health support services are delivered to a range of client groups including former homeless people, ex-servicemen and women and those affected by substance misuse, within its supported housing projects and services within the community. Many of our other services (not dedicated to people with mental ill-health) will include a range of mental health interventions and activities which promote confidence, resilience and well-being.

We are specialists in developing support services for clients with multiple and complex needs which often includes enduring mental health and dual-diagnosis issues. We are pioneers of a no exclusion programme supporting our clients to sustain their tenancies, access employment and training opportunities and reduce psychiatric hospital admissions.                                           

We have integrated ‘psychologically informed’ environments (PIEs) into the way we deliver specialist supported housing projects, and being psychologically informed is now the way we do business. It allows us to positively influence the thoughts, emotions and behaviour of clients to help them transform their lives.

We have created a clear framework of training, support, tools/approaches and principles which result in greater hope, motivation and self-belief for our customers, and a reduced rate of burnout and sickness for staff.
