Mental Health Providers Forum [MHPF] announces name change and new website, to coincide with the launch of Mental Health Awareness Week 2017

Ahead of Mental Health Awareness Week, starting on May 8, the Mental Health Providers Forum has announced the change of its name to Association of Mental Health Providers.

The new name change forms part of a wider strategic review of the organisation’s identity and communications strategy, which also involves the launch of new website which can be found at www.amhp.org.uk

Kathy Roberts, Chief Executive of the newly-named Association of Mental Health Providers said:

“As the leading voice for the voluntary and community sector covering the full spectrum of mental health provision in England, we felt that the Association needed to undergo a re-brand in order to better reflect the work of our members, and the strategic role that we play in influencing change and policy.”

“We’ve been conscious for a while that our website has needed a rethink in order to provider our members with an easier interface with the Association.  The new logo and name are also designed to better position us as the go-to umbrella organisation for mental health providers and to make our work more accessible to those outside the sector that we want to influence and engage with.”

“As we head towards Mental Health Awareness Week we have already seen a number of public figures make the headlines for various issues relating to their mental health.  For us, this serves as yet another important reminder of the critical work that our members are doing and why the Association of Mental Health Providers needs to remain the champion for sustainability of the sector.  We also want to continue promoting and fostering whole system approaches to mental health care provision and help drive forward initiatives for the prevention of mental illness.”

“The work our members do is life changing and life-saving, which is why the latest changes to our name and website are such important stages in the evolution of our organisation.”
