Chief Executive’s Message to Members on Relaunch

Dear Members,

Today, our organisation begins a new journey as we change our name to Association of Mental Health Providers. We’ve had discussions with some of you around your needs and what you expect from us as the only representative body for providers of voluntary and community sector mental health services and so, we decided it was time to make some changes. But it’s not just about changing our name, our website and our logo – it’s about better reflecting the work that we do and having a stronger focus on you; our members.

It is important to us that we have a professional platform so the vital work of all our members can be seen and heard. Our membership is vast – it ranges from small to large organisations, from local to national providers, from specialisms in crisis care to complex needs, from children and young people’s mental health to women and BME communities. But no matter the size, location or specialism of our members, each voice matters to us equally.

We’ve made some changes, but what’s stayed the same?

Our mission is as clear as ever. We will continue to represent all our members and promote the invaluable role of the wider VCS in mental health service provision. We will continue to focus on our key areas of work – sustainability, whole-system approaches, and prevention – to improve mental health service delivery. We will continue to act as advisers to System Partners through our key positions on national boards and steering groups. We will continue to work in full coproduction on policy, research, equality, innovation, quality and delivery. We will continue to listen to the voice of people in communities and utilise knowledge to ensure the mental health voluntary and community sector is understood and develops.

And our core team remains the same – dedicated to working with and representing our members. It is only by working collaboratively with each one of you for a whole-system approach that we can play a key role in shaping the future of services for people with mental health conditions. So, use our new Members’ Area, get in touch and let’s work together…

We’ve changed. But for the better.

We are more than a Forum. We are the only national membership charity for mental health organisations.
We are the leading voice of the voluntary sector. We are the Association of Mental Health Providers.

Warm regards,

Kathy Roberts
