Relate Chesterfield & North Derbyshire

We are a charity providing counselling, support and training to our local community for over 40 years. We offer individual, couples, family, children and young people and psychosexual therapy. We also offer training courses particularly aimed at equipping people to support their own and other people's mental health and wellbeing. We have a contract with the NHS Trust to provide individual and couples counselling under the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) NHS model. This supports people experiencing anxiety and depression. We also have a contract with the local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to support people experiencing psychosexual issues which are often related to mental ill health. Our youngest beneficiaries are aged 5 as part of family counselling and we regularly see beneficiaries aged 70 plus across all our services. As a result of Covid we are seeing a massive increase in referrals where mental health is the main presenting issue and we are working with CAMHS, Adult Social Care, schools, GPs and many other organisations to provide help without a waiting list free at the point of access wherever possible with the help of grants.
