Reclaiming Narratives

This year’s Black History Month (BHM) theme, as highlighted by blackhistorymonth.org.uk, is ‘Reclaiming Narratives.’

Taking place from 1 to 31 October, Black History Month is an opportunity to honour the pivotal moments, achievements, and contributions that Black individuals have made to British society.

This year’s theme encourages us to “recognise and correct the narratives of Black history and culture.”

Like all aspects of life, mental health is shaped by the stories we tell and our experiences.

As we celebrate Black History Month, let’s also reflect on the importance of mental wellbeing in these narratives.

We invite you to share your mental health journey and experiences with us as we work together to build stronger, healthier communities.

Share your story with us to raise awareness of Black mental health and wellbeing and how it can effect change.

Please let us know if you would like to remain anonymous as your responses will be featured on our social media channels.
