Welcoming our New Trustees
The Association of Mental Health Providers, the only national representative organisation for voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) mental health service providers, is pleased to announce the appointments of Adam Crampsie and Alun Thomas to our Board of Trustees.
Adam brings a wealth of experience spanning the public, private, and charity sectors. As Chief Executive of Everyturn Mental Health, he has built a passionate and motivated workforce, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those supported by its services. Adam also serves as a Non-Executive Director at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust and is a Trustee of the Terrence Higgins Trust. He plays a key leadership role in regional mental health strategy, chairing the ICS-wide VCSE Partnership Programme’s Mental Health Sub-Group, acting as VCSE Mental Health Lead for the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB), and serving on its Mental Health, Learning Disabilities & Autism (MHLDA) Executive Sub-Committee.
Alun Thomas brings over 20 years of experience as a mental health CEO, underpinned by a professional background in nursing. He began his leadership journey managing a 75-bed nursing home, which he successfully transformed into a rehabilitation facility. Now, as Chief Executive of Adferiad, Alun combines frontline experience with a first-class Law degree and has led several high-impact campaigns in Wales, including the recent national anti-stigma campaign: Only Human.
Dania Hanif, Chief Executive of the Association of Mental Health Providers, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome Adam Crampsie and Alun Thomas to our Board of Trustees. Adam’s cross-sector expertise and Alun’s leadership experience and legal knowledge will be instrumental in guiding our strategic direction and strengthening our voice. We’re confident their insights and contributions will help the Association continue to grow and thrive.”
Steve Appleton, Chair of the Association’s Board of Trustees, added:
“I am delighted to welcome Adam and Alun as new Trustees. They both bring significant experience and expertise that will further strengthen our Board. I am looking forward to working with them.”
