Good Governance in the VCSE Mental Health Sector Pt 2
The Association of Mental Health Providers and the Good Governance Institute (GGI) are working in partnership, to explore the value and critical role of the voluntary and community sector in responding to and promoting mental health and wellbeing of people and communities.
We would like to invite you to a digital launch event for our thought piece on Effective Governance for VCSE Mental Health Providers on Wednesday 24 February, 2021, 2-4pm. Please register here by Thursday 28 January.
A paper detailing findings and ideas for change to the future requirements of effective governance for mental health organisations will be launched, developed between The Association and GGI. It will explore the way in which the pandemic has thrown into focus many of the assumptions about the skills, knowledge and competencies required for effective governance of organisations currently constituted as charities that operate in the health and wellbeing sector.
It will also make clear that, moving forward, governance arrangements must have real insight into the operational challenges of an increasingly complex and dynamic environment. This will be key to the ability of those organisations to thrive and continue to be able to work successfully with and for people with mental illness, poor mental health and related needs.
The session will be opened by David Brindle, Public Services Editor at the Guardian and feature contributions from CEOs of member organisations of VCSE mental health service providers and leaders of the health and social care system. It will be chaired by Andrew Corbett-Nolan, CEO of the Good Governance Institute.
There will be opportunity for questions and engagement on the report, which we hope to share in advance of the event.
