Social and strengths-based approaches to mental health support – from global practice to local delivery
Association of Mental Health Providers is delighted to bring together organisations from across the UK to discuss social and strengths-based approaches to mental health support. The webinar, chaired by Sir Norman Lamb, will provide an opportunity for attendees to hear about a range of different delivery models across the UK, as featured in 2021’s World Health Organisation good practice guidance.
The session will be introduced by Dr Michelle Funk, Unit Head, Department of Mental Health and Substance Use, World Health Organization. Panellists will represent the three UK-based VCSE mental health and wellbeing service providers, which were highlighted as examples of best practice promoting rights and recovery, presenting alongside people with lived experience who have been supported through their services. Organisations represented will be:
- KeyRing Living Support Networks
- Missing Link Mental Health Services
- Shared Lives Plus and Shared Lives South East Wales Scheme
The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session, and we would highly recommend the webinar to any stakeholders who wish to develop or transform the mental health support they provide.
This event follows on from last year’s community based mental health services promoting human rights and recovery session, based on the WHO guidance, which brought together 6 organisations from around the world to present on their services, which you can watch here.
The webinar can be viewed again via the Youtube link below, and the slide presentations from the day can be downloaded here (Powerpoint file).
