MhIST is an innovative user-led organisation that provides a responsive, safe, and confidential service that supports people with mental health challenges and their carers’.
Our purpose is to support people in a positive environment where an individual can flourish and achieve their goals. Our services (talking therapies, mental health advocacy, self-help and volunteering and back to work opportunities) are free at the point of access, inclusive, responsive, and creative.
We are committed to supporting people to drive their recovery positively, develop self-management strategies, build resilience, and respond positively to future challenges. We believe everyone has the right to be listened too; to be heard and to have a voice, that service users are at the centre of decision making. There is an increasing demand for mental health services to provide support for individuals experiencing mental health problems. Our services gives local people with mental health problems the opportunity to link with others in the community.
Our uniqueness comes from the personalised care we provide through talking therapies, self-help groups, and advocacy services. We equip everyone with the skills, attitude, and self-belief they need to go on to live a successful independent life in their community.
