MHPF responds to Autumn Statement
Following the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement, Kathy Roberts, Chief Executive of MHPF has the following to say:
“MHPF were disappointed that the Autumn Statement did not address the very real and significant problems facing social care. Social care funding enables the voluntary sector to provide vital support to those in communities. Without adequately funding these measures, this government will fail in its commitment to people and communities, resulting in devastation to those most in need and a health system unable to cope.
Social care and voluntary providers are in need of adequate funding from this government in order to deliver the right treatment, care and support that people need. A sustainable social care sector is of vital importance to the whole local economy as an employer of people, purchaser of goods and services, and supporter to health systems.”
