The Fair Pay Agreement – A Summary Briefing
The Fair Pay Agreement (FPA) is one of the most significant reforms to adult social care in a generation. The Association of Mental Health Providers strongly supports its ambition to improve pay, workforce retention and long-term stability across the sector.
However, in our response to the consultation, we were clear that for mental health and VCFSE providers the success of the FPA will depend on a realistic approach. This includes adequate and sustainable funding, enforceable accountability for commissioners, and clear recognition of the diversity of the sector.
This document sets out our full consultation response in an accessible format for members, while also providing a robust resource for policy makers and system leaders. It explains what we told government, why these issues matter for mental health and VCFSE providers, and what needs to happen next to ensure the FPA delivers in practice.
